Abstract:
This report aimed to assist DST with their aim of advancing science engagement and promotion amongst young South African children. Based on the identified extracurricular STEM activities and their strengths and weaknesses, recommendations focused on increasing accessibility to the wide range of activities already available in South Africa. The recommendations also included insights from those activities taking place internationally. It is envisioned that through development of new innovations and partnerships, a culture of science engagement among young South Africans can be fostered.
