Abstract:
South Africa took over the chairship of IORA at the 17th Council of Ministers (COM) and Related Meetings (the 23rd IORAG meeting) held in Durban, South Africa in 2017 under the theme 'Uniting the Peoples of Africa, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East through Enhanced Cooperation for Peace, Stability and Sustainable Development'. South Africa is aiming to use this opportunity to advance the involvement of South Africa and other African countries within IORA. One of the mechanisms to achieve this is through the reform of the IORAG.
