Abstract:
In the past, foreign nationals coming into South Africa have been labelled as carriers of disease and other maladies that threaten the health of the population. There is a danger that the COVID-19 pandemic could result in an upsurge in such aggressive anti-immigrant sentiments, as has been observed elsewhere in the world.
