dc.description.abstract This chapter provides a general update on the findings presented in the previous Human Resources development review (HSRC 2003). It reviews the state of current HIV/AIDS research, and considers the impact of HIV/AIDS on labour supply in terms of education, skills and training. It includes a review of HIV/AIDS responses in terms of HIV mitigation efforts, care and treatment. Finally, the chapter considers the broader human resource development implications of the present situation. en
