Abstract:
This chapter is aimed at answering three basic questions about rural livelihoods in the West Coast district: 1. Who are the rural poor in this district and what their livelihood strategies?, 2. What kind of productive assets (livestock, land and so on) do households in the West Coast own and how are these assets accessed and used, and 3. What are the land needs in rural parts of this region?.
