dc.description Commissioned by the Office of the Premier, Gauteng Provincial Government, Johannesburg, South Africa, October en
dc.description.abstract The main message of this report is that poverty continues to present a significant threat to the well being of nearly 50% of children in the province. Poverty is associated with a number of risks including increasing child and maternal mortality, high levels of HIV infection, and danger to children. It is also clear that there are many gaps in the data. A Report for the Office of the Premier, Gauteng Provincial Government. The development of good information systems is itself a challenge, however the investment will be worthwhile and will improve the capacity of the province to monitor the status of children and their services. en
