Abstract:
This paper attempts to bring light as to the actual spin-offs of investing heavily into eco-tourism as against other economy activities, eg. mining. It will further highlight the relevance of using geo-knowledge in socio-economic planning and decision-making for effective and sustainable development. The paper focuses on the Kwazulu Natal province and its Provincial Growth and Development Strategy.
