Abstract:
The focus of this chapter is to show that some cultural aspects related to indigenous games can play a significant role in enhancing mathematical understanding. This is done by incorporating mathematical activities identified from the analysis of Morabaraba game commonly played in different communities. The examples used in this chapter are drawn from the versions of the Morabaraba game played in South Africa and other countries in southern Africa like Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
