Abstract:
This chapter explores whether it is possible to establish from Justice O???Regan???s judicial, academic and public record whether she has succeeded in navigating a justifiable middle way through the tensions arising between
the imperatives of legality and experimentation, between rationality and imagination, and between deference and empathy.
