Abstract:
During student protests at South Africa's universities in 2016, the slogan F**k white people appeared on T-shirts, buildings and monuments. HSRC researchers who analysed public opinion on the phenomenon found that most South Africans rejected such behaviour. But there is more to it. We need to have deeper conversations about the countrys history of injustice to gain insight into the possibilities for social restitution in contemporary South Africa.
