dc.description.abstract Although two strands of the literature on innovation (interactions and GINs) mention universities and foreign corporations, neither conceptualizes these two concepts in a systematic manner as a core research focus. This section evaluates how each strand of the literature on innovation deals with the issue that is not at its core how the literature on the interactions of firms with universities deals with the globalization of research and development (R&D), and how the literature on GINs deals with the role of universities. en
