Abstract:
Despite the potential benefits of HIV self-testing (HIVST), several challenges contribute to poor linkage to HIV care among HIVST individuals in sub-Saharan Africa. The challenges to linkage to HIV care among HIVST individuals are complex and require a multifaceted approach that addresses both individual- level and systemic-level barriers to care. Approaches for improving linkage to HIV care among HIVST individuals include counselling and support, innovative HIV care service delivery models, peer navigation, health information systems and community mobilisation and engagement.
