Abstract:
As part of on-going efforts by the FSCA to better understand, monitor and promote financial literacy, capabilities, and well-being in South Africa, it commissioned the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) to undertake a series of surveys that, among other things, has examined consumers' experiences of financial duress. This survey series has been designed to assist with the identification and monitoring of consumer vulnerability.
This will inform the development and targeting of strategies to improve financial literacy levels in the country and to further inform the financial education policies of the FSCA and its stakeholders.
