Abstract:
The article outlines the challenges faced in setting up and maintaining an address database for the Birth to Ten study, a cohort study of children born in the greater Johannesburg area in 1990. The article discusses challenges caused by the lack of standardisation of spelling of names and addresses and the uncertainty about reliability of some sets of data.
