Abstract:
In our new role on the Security Council, we have two options: to go there and look at where the wind goes, and then wait and see where it blow us, where everyone goes. We would get good publicity, and would be loved. But if we behaved this way, would this be consistent with our foreign policy objectives or the views we hold as members of the South, the developing world? Would we be able to recongnize ourselves after two years? The UN should not change us. We should change the UN.
