The national Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) was established in 2004/5 with the overarching objective of creating one million job opportunities in five years, and emphasising the creation of unskilled work opportunities for the unemployed. The year 2007 marking the half-way for the programme, the Expanded Public Works Support Programme (EPWSP) commissioned a mid-term review in order to assess the EPWP to date, and elicit recommendations on the future direction and structure of the programme. |
