Abstract:
South Africa has become a services economy. About 70% of GDP and 67% of total employment was generated by services in 2002. Critically, the services sector is growing faster than the primary or secondary sectors. Services grew by an average 3% per annum between 1994 and 2001, against an annual average of 2.4 % for the entire economy.
