Abstract:
Rather than a repetition of what was said in May last year in the first impact report after completion of one year's learner generation interventions by siyaJabula siyaKhula (sJsK), the authors will reiterate the salient points and provide new points for consideration. Readers are also notified that the final impact report, on completion of the intervention period on 30 June 2015, is produced now in two parts. This outcome was determined by the intervention and evaluation design straddling two cohorts, with a second one introduced at the beginning of 2014 to run in parallel with the subsequent period following on the first year (2013) of the first cohort. The present report is confined solely to the second cohort. Essentially, this report is also a replication study to determine if the same results could be achieved a second time. Suffice to say at this stage that a deliberate attempt has been made to reduce the information that appears in this Part 2 replication report (Cohort 2, one-year) to an essential minimum. The companion report for the original group appears as the Part 1 report (Cohort 1, over two years) and will be the more comprehensive report.
