dc.description.abstract This report explores the spaces which exist for the promotion of science awareness in South Africa. Many of the identified spaces also provide informal and non-formal mathematics, science and technology (MST) education. These spaces are examined in terms of their characteristics, and the potential of such spaces for increased participation in promoting science awareness. These spaces are referred to as science awareness spaces. Points of intervention which may assist in the increase of science awareness promotion by these various spaces are also presented. en
