Abstract:
"poetry holds rich educational potential to connect with learners" everyday lives in meaningful ways and to engage them by transcending purely rational and cognitive forms of inquiry, delving into emotional domains through multi-modal methods of teaching and learning. This is particularly relevant in a society with traumatic circumstances and histories, like South Africa.
