Abstract:
This chapter addresses the resulting gaps by highlighting the uniqueness of the Sino-South Africa case, after framing it within the traditional Sino-African discourse. This chapter is mainly framed by two questions: What does Sino-South African (or African)
educational engagement look like?; Is the Sino-South African (or African) educational engagement a co-operation or aid project? The chapter addresses these questions in three sections: Sino-African educational engagement; Sino-South African educational engagement (within South Africa's overall human resource challenges and experiences); and, lastly, the Sino-South African educational co-operation or aid puzzle.
