Abstract:
This case study examines the competences, capabilities, interactive capabilities and dynamic interactive capabilities that characterise the sectoral system of innovation (SSI) of the astronomy sector, with a view to identifying the factors that have enabled alignment and success, and the factors that have acted as bottlenecks or constraints. Within this ambit, we focus on the SKA as the flagship astronomy facility in South Africa in the
medium term.
